Peripheral Nerve Disorders
Peripheral nerve disorders or peripheral neuropathy is dysfunction of the nerves outside of the brain or spinal column. Peripheral nerve disorders can occur for a number of metabolic, traumatic, toxic or infectious processes. Peripheral nerve disorders that result from nerve entrapment such as cubital tunnel or carpal tunnel syndromes may be amenable to small outpatient procedures to release the nerve. Other peripheral nerve disorders that do not result from compression may require a multidisciplinary approach. At Advanced Neurosurgery, our team will help reach a diagnosis and coordinate care between our colleagues in other medical fields such as neurology, orthopedics, pain management and physical therapy.
